Dear XYO Geohackers (man, it feels good to say that again!) —
Thanks for your patience. I just got out of my meeting (which went for three hours!) I'm completely energized and fired up for the future.
As some of you know, I run another business that helps authors get their books into the world and make a living from it. It revolves around analog writing tools——doing things the old way, the deliberate way——the best way, and that is——writing by hand! (No AI or CrapGPT.)
At the end of 2019, I parted ways with XY Labs, Inc. and the XYO Foundation. I found myself completely burnt out and lost. We had some very hard times (and a massive layoff), which caused me to feel like a complete failure.
After a very tough year, I decided to pursue my true fascinations——without regard to their financial feasibility. This led me to——of all things——my love for using analog tools to read, write, and think.
It was a hard slog for the first several years, but today——believe it or not——my business does over $250,000 per month in revenue. It doesn't have the margins of digital app companies, but I love my people and I love who I get to serve.
I'm telling you about this because this is my "cash cow" business. It enables me to invest resources in building a team for other projects I'm passionate about——an example of that being... XYO!
Arie and I began working together at the tail end of 2017. It was a time of hard days and dark nights working out of the downtown San Diego office and into the wee hours of the morning. We would blast the soundtrack to _The Social Network_, and we would spend hours brainstorming the craziest of ideas in a conference room filled with four walls of massive whiteboards.
This time was one of the most intellectually stimulating and exciting times of my life. Markus was working tirelessly in the background on business items that kept us afloat, while Christine Sako and Jordan Trouw carried the load in making it possible for our token sale to be a success.
This launched the beginning of XYO. (Oh, yeah——and there also was Maryann Cummings, who always served humbly and consistently in the background as the backbone of XYO, and does so to this very day.)
Anyway, I look back very fondly on those times and I am forever grateful for all the incredible people that are STILL the cornerstone of XY / XYO (John Arana being the best developer and thinker I've ever met in my life——who is also an integral part of why XYO is thriving), as well as Joe Bader. (Without them, there would be no COIN app, to say the very least.)
OK, Enough background...
I've always felt a recurring tug to get back into contributing to XYO. I love XYO. It was very painful for me to leave and slowly let go of. (I dream in XYO!)
This is what set me off on the path to getting re-involved with XYO by contributing to its ecosystem.
Just as Ethereum has many independent companies developing for the Ethereum protocol, I foresee XYO having many independent companies developing for the XYO protocol. I may be the first, but I hopefully won't be the last.
This has led me to embark upon a project independent of XY Labs and the XYO Foundation. It aims to bring XYO usage to a much wider audience——very quickly. It starts with integrating XYO into @Tesla vehicles——effectively turning them into "dataminers" (or, in XYO-speak, Sentinels). There are several exciting layers to this which I am extremely excited about. I cannot wait to share more of it with you.
One thing that prompted the idea for this project was not any of my contacts at Tesla, but rather——my contacts within @SpaceX. I have three key contacts within SpaceX——one of whom designed the heat shield for the Falcon 9. This led me to explore how to somehow integrate XYO and SpaceX in a way that is mutually beneficial. I've come to realize that such a thing is possible, but it is better left for the second and third phases of this project (more details to come). Until then, the best use of resources is the integration of XYO and Tesla.
This brings me to the next point (don't worry, we're getting closer to the announcement). I have assembled a team that is laser-focused on turning Teslas into vehicles that datamine crypto——starting with $DOGE (which won the recent vote at 49.6%). At the epicenter of this——the token that makes it possible to opt into the network——is $XYO (which shall have a minimum stake per vehicle to secure the network, as well as an unstaking period, similar to Ethereum).
I will share more details next week, but there are two layers to this——a first layer, which revolves around a direct integration with Tesla (which we received approval for)——and another layer, which requires a hardware integration——and is also enhanced by @starlink, which we are still in the testing phases of (pictures of the XYOcybertruck with Starlink are coming). I can't wait to share more details and screenshots of the app in the near future!
Finally, this leads me to the announcement I mentioned yesterday:
We've officially welcomed to our team a key blockchain developer who is already proving integral to the development of the XYO / Tesla integration. This is an individual who was the first blockchain developer we hired at XYO back in the day. (In case you're wondering, he parted ways many years ago, around the time I parted ways.)
In addition to this, he also runs a very successful app with over 90,000 residential customers that could pave the way for an XYO integration into smart homes.
However, that is not the short-term focus. Our short-term focus is the integration of Tesla and XYO.
In the future, there will be more team announcements, the brand reveal, the website, the roadmap, the application rollout, and screenshots shared.
I'm leaving out much, and I didn't plan on writing this much, but I found my pen moving across the page.
In the meantime, I'm beyond excited for what's to come and I'm beyond grateful to contribute to the XYO ecosystem again.
Our vision is clear. The focus? Have your Tesla mine $DOGE in the background without draining the battery. All powered by $XYO. There are several reasons why $DOGE is an excellent choice, which I will not get into for now.
I'm committed to building this and investing my resources into making this happen.
I'm grateful for all of your support, and for those of you who share the same vision.
Stay focused,
Stay crispy,
And help fight the FUD.
